Easy Peasy Placement Process

Step 1 - Choose life, choose Graduate Advantage! - Placement Options
If you're reading this for the first time then may I welcome you to the world of Graduate Advantage. A place where placements can be applied for online, candidates can dive into our candidate pools and register for job alerts. Yes people life is good.

Step 2 - Leaving no stone unturned - Applying for placement
Search and apply for your ideal placement by completing an online application form. To increase your chances of finding a placement we recommend that you also apply for one or more of our candidate pools. This allows you to be proactive and submit tailored applications to the placements you like while at the same time allowing us to match you to any incoming placements. Sorry CVs are not accepted.

Step 3 - Suits you sir! - Monitoring your application
Once you have applied for a placement our Team will review your application. If we feel you are suitable for the placement your application form will be forwarded to the employer. Don't worry, we will of course let you know the progress of your application at all stages. You are also able to monitor the progress of all applications made in My Applications on the website.

Step 4 - Fix up, look sharp and keep your phone on! - Interviews
If the company likes your application you will be invited to attend an interview by them directly. We recommend that you keep your mobile phone charged and on and check your emails! If you require further guidance then please contact your local careers service for advice.

Step 5 - Making you an offer you can't refuse - Offers of Employment
If you are successful at interview the company will make you an offer directly. Should you accept an offer of employment , the company will finalise rate of pay, start date, first day procedures and duration of your placement.

Step 6 - Starting your placement
Graduate Advantage will contact you to congratulate you on securing your placement and provide you with the following information:

  • Induction Checklist - this will need to be completed and returned to Graduate Advantage at the end of your first week at work
  • I fought the law and the law won - employment law - this is a useful document which outlines how employment law relates to you
  • How to get the most from the experience - some tips from students and graduates we have worked with on how to get the most from your placement.

We will also request that you send us a copy of your offer letter or contract.

Although we don't want to be the bearers of bad news , we will of course let you know if you have not been successful at any stage and provide guidance and feedback where possible.
