Local manufacturer improves quality standards

Strip Tinning Limited is a specialised manufacturer of tin-coated copper for the automotive and photovoltaic markets. They recruited Imran to conduct a detailed analysis of daily production output to monitor, evaluate and improve their current manufacturing processes.

As an ISO accredited company, Strip Tinning has a number of controls in place aimed towards continual improvement. However, they were becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of scrap being produced, and varying levels of line efficiency. Imran spent a lot of time actually on the manufacturing lines, recording and analysing daily output, in order to establish the main causes of unacceptable scrap levels and inconsistent production.

Imran put forward a number of valid suggestions for improving the efficiency of their production lines. Some of which have since been put into practise, resulting in considerable cost savings for the company. As a result of Imran's impact, he has now been offered a permanent position in the company. He has recently taken up the key role as their new product development manager for their new flexible connector business. Strip Tinning have been delighted with Imran's progress since he first joined them in January, and he is now recognised as a key member of their decision-making team.
